We are excited for our next ESCalator on May 12th. The event aims to explore the challenges of systemic change and how designers and changemakers can navigate the powerful forces they are often not fully aware of.

During the event, we have two expert speakers sharing their perspectives on systemic change. Anja Overdiek, associate professor at THUAS and professor at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, will elaborate on her blind spots in changing the Dutch food system. Alyona Yuzefovich, a Russian changemaker working in complexity, will talk about the build-up towards the war and the signs that were missed by the international community and progressive changemakers in Moscow.

The event will also include a workshop titled “Seeing the Unseen” where participants will have the opportunity to uncover their own blind spots within their (own) projects. Together, we will discover broader patterns that can be used to further the development of the systemic co-design framework.

We look forward to see you at the event and engaging in an insightful conversation about systemic change.
